The famous writer Akbar Kakkattil passed away

Kozhikode: The famous malayalam writer Akbar Kakkattyil passed away here in a private hospital today in the treatment of the disease of cancer. He is the Vice- Chairman in the Sahitya Academy of kerala. He was under treatment of cancder for a long time.
He was a member of the Advisory Committee of National Book trust, malayalam member of state governmet’s advisory committe and the editorial board member of ‘Akshara kairali’, State Literacy Mission magazine. He has been working with the Central Government and the National Institute of Open schooling Curriculum Committee floors.

Akbar hoped his writings were filled with witty and simplicity .including novels , short stories and essays have been published in 54 books. He made a new category in malayalam literatuer world as ‘Teacher Stories’.
He won the Sahithya Academy Award two times. In addition to the literary awards, SK pottakkad Award, Abu Dhabi sakthi Award, Joseph Mundassery Award, Literature Fellowship of the central government , Rajiv Gandhi Peace Foundation award etc.
