The stars are set to play vital role in the affairs of political parties now. Close on the heels of the Congress picking Jagadeesh and Siddique in its candidates list the CPM has chosen actor Mukesh to contest from Eravipuram constituency which is the sitting seat of the RSP. The CPM has been keen on fielding the right candidate to fill the left behind by the RSP with its crossover to the UDF.
RSP state secretary A.A. Azeez had won from Eravipuram thrice, but a section of RSP workers is unhappy with the party’s decision to filed him again from there.
The tug we between the INC and the RSP has intensified with the RSP demanding more seats while the Congress has agreed to give only its sitting seats of Kunnathoor, Chavara and Reaviprum. Meanwhile the IUML also demanded Ervipuram and was offered the Karunagappally seat instead.
